Woke to thick fog again this morning and as I write this on Sunday evening it is even worse.
We had thick fog until the sun finally broke through around noon. We headed out for lunch then and went south over the John F Kennedy Memorial Causeway bridge that connects to Padre Island.
Under that bridge are several businesses including bait shops and a couple restaurants. One of them is Doc's and the one we had lunch at is Snoopy's.
We ate outside and had a nice lunch, topped off with some ice cream from a shop right there. The local birds were begging for a snack, but we did not cave to their begging.
This guy was giving us heck for not throwing him a shrimp! See if this video loads:
The scenery was nice and relaxing. We saw several ships go by and some smaller boats too.
After lunch we stopped at the H-E-B on the way back to the NAS and picked up a few items. When we got back I emptied the black tank since we had been here a week and then I gave the truck a bath to wash off the salt spray. I continue to check in with the reservation system for this park to see if we can extend here a few days. We are scheduled to leave here on 9 Feb and move to Kingsville NAS RV Park until the 13th, but it would be less hassle if we could just stay here until the 13th when we will head south to my sister's. So far, no availability but we will keep checking. Nothing much else today.

Tomorrow I have a bunch of phone calls to make such as checking availability at the military camp grounds out east for our next trip. Later, if the visibility improves we will drive up the shore on Ocean Drive and check that out.
