As mentioned before, we don't have events or destinations planned for each day we are at Corpus Christi. Today is one of the down days. We worked around the inside of the RV this morning and then headed out for lunch and a little shopping.
Lunch was at a little place right outside the NAS main gate called Black Diamond Oyster Bar. Food was mediocre. Doreen had fish and chips. It was not hot and was mushy. I had boudin balls as an appetizer and fried oyster sandwich as the main course. The balls were good and the sandwich was OK.
From there we headed over to H-E-B to pick up a few items. We have been very impressed with H-E-B and the quality of their food. They make fresh spicy guacamole which is really good. They also make a variety of fresh tortillas, sushi, and other things. Their wine selection is good also. When we had dinner with the Dorothy and Drew DeHaes they served Pedernales which is a local Texas wine and very good. We found it at H-E-B so we picked up a bottle.
Tomorrow we intend to head down to Padre Island and the National Seashore. The weather is not supposed to be very good, but the forecast is not looking all that great for improvement.
