Down day today as pertains to touring. Ticket sales for the Chicago Cubs spring training games when on sale at 1100 hrs, so I focused on that and got our tickets purchased for four games while we are in the Mesa AZ area in March.
We are staying at the KOA campground in Apache Junction AZ 8-17 March. We will catch the Cubs at home at Sloan Park on 9 March vs the Los Angeles Angels, on 12 March vs the Cincinnati Reds and on 14 March vs the Texas Rangers. On 13 March we will also visit the old Cubs stadium, Hohokam Stadium, when the Cubs play the A's. It will be nice to see them play there again since Doreen and I attended the last game the Cubs played in Hohokam back in 2013. The Cubs built a new stadium, Sloan Park, and they sold Hohokam to the A's.
Doreen also made some phone calls and reservations for Liberty to stay at the Petsmart 'doggie daycare', so we can enjoy the game without having to worry about skipping out of the game early because of the dog.
It rained quite a bit and the wind blew pretty good today, also, so we hung around here until it stopped and then we drove to the commissary and reloaded with groceries before we move on Monday. She cooked some meat ahead using the Instant Pot, and I barbecued some chicken, some brat patties and finished the ribs she cooked in the Instant Pot.
That's about it for today. Was nice to throttle back a bit today and catch up on a few things here. Tomorrow we are going to try to get to the lighthouses if the weather cooperates, and then Monday morning we will head west to our next destination - Westlake LA.
