Terrific storm passed through last night which kept us up most of the night/ Strong winds & heavy rain pounded & rocked the RV. It started around midnight and was still pounding away in the morning. Here is a video Doreen recorded around 0900 hrs. Check out the flag whipping in the wind!
After shopping we headed back to the RV and relaxed the rest of the afternoon. I made some phone calls and worked some stuff on-line. I had ordered a replacement engine air filter for the RAM diesel on Amazon and it arrived, so I changed it out. In the evening we drove down the road a couple miles to a local watering hole called Gilhooley's Restaurant and Oyster Bar.
I had read about this place as one of their specials is their grilled oysters! So I ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell for an appetizer, and then a cup of oyster stew and a half dozen Shrimphooly for the main course, which are oysters grilled on the half shell in garlic butter and Parmesan cheese topped with a grilled shrimp on top. Doreen ordered a chicken quesadilla since she does not do seafood. Here is a link to their menu: https://www.facebook.com/gilhooleys/menu/Shrimphooley - supposed to be six but they gave me seven! Melt in your mouth! |
That's it for today. Tomorrow we will tour the Houston Space Center!
