25 Jan 2019 - Dinner with Doreen's Cousin

Today was a down day from the standpoint of touring or site seeing.  We both worked around the RV until the afternoon.  I installed a software upgrade to the RAM 3500, vacuumed out the inside and re-paired the RV backup camera.  Doreen worked on finances, made a hair appointment for the dog in Corpus Christi and worked on plans for tomorrow's adventure here in the Galveston area.

Later in the afternoon we headed for Doreen's cousin's house in League City for dinner.  Tammy Mortensen Sharp is Doreen's second cousin.  Her grandfather and Doreen's father were brothers.  We (Doreen and I) used to babysit Tammy and her brother when we were dating in high school.  Tammy, Doreen and I all three went to Northern University High School in Cedar Falls and have kept in contact through the years.  We probably have not seen Tammy in 15 years, so it was really great to be able to get together today.

 They showed us around their house and backyard with an awesome swimming pool.  They had a color changing lighting installed which is sweet!!  They also have a barbecue area and pergola.

Tammy is a minister with the Christus Victor Lutheran Church in League City TX and has recently returned from a two week mission trip to Ethiopia.  We got an update on her journey along with a  slide show!  Tammy prepared a chili for us with all the trimmings, which was great!

We returned to the RV and enjoyed our weekly showing of 'Gold Rush' followed by 'Gold Rush: White Water'.

Tomorrow we are going to visit a couple more sites in the area and are going to try to make one of the tours at the local rum distillery.  Railean Distilleryd
