20 Jan 2019 - Goodbye College Station - Hello San Leon/Galveston

20 Jan 2019
Cold temps remain.  30F temp when we woke this morning.  Not the single digits like it is back in Iowa right now, but still pretty cold for the Texas Gulf Coast.

Today we move from College Station TX to an RV park in San Leon TX which is between Galveston and Houston.
Our check-in time was noon and it was about a 142 mile drive, so we packed it up this morning and headed south about 0851 hrs. We arrived at the Big Spot RV Park at 1127 hours.

This RV park is relatively new.  The RV sites and roads are all paved, with rock separating the sites.  Our site is a back-in, so we have grass behind us which Liberty appreciates.  Here are a few pictures:
Wide, paved roads and wide paved RV sites.

Several sites open so we have no one camping right next to us or even in front of us right now.

A view from our site of the main building.  Fitness room, modern laundry facility, community room with full kitchen, latrines, showers, large swimming pool and hot tub, etc.  Fast WiFi, cable TV at each site.  Very nice amenities.

This is our site.  You can see the grassy area behind.
The RV Park also has it's own dock across the street on Trinity Bay.  It is gated and combo-locked.  They even provide WiFi at the dock!

While we are in this area we plan to tour Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astro's. We will also tour Houston's NASA facility, the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum, and possibly an American Rum distillery! Doreen and I both have friends that live in the area also.

Well, I stayed up and witnessed the "Super Blood Wolf Moon", and we will call this a wrap for today.
